Sandustry Guides and Factory Tools

Turn Sand, Water, Residue and Gold into a factory you can reason about. Start with verified mechanics, then use visual flows and practical checklists to design your own line.

Unofficial and independent. Mechanics are sourced; layout advice is clearly labeled.

The short answer

A pixel factory where every output needs a route

Sandustry is a single-player factory automation game in a fully destructible pixel world. The early documented loop combines Sand and Water into Wet Sand, separates Gold in a Shaker and turns the remaining Residue into later products. This site explains each confirmed reaction without inventing “perfect” ratios.

Early Access

Labels and mechanics can move

Sandustry entered Early Access on August 13, 2026. Pages show a verification date, official patch notes are kept separate from community reports, and old “slag” searches are answered using the current official terms Residue and Burnt Residue.

Frequently asked questions

What is Sandustry?

Sandustry is a single-player factory automation game with a fully destructible pixel world. Materials can be mined, mixed, processed and transported through production chains.

How do I get Gold in Sandustry?

The first documented route is to combine Sand with Water, process the resulting Wet Sand in a Shaker, and collect the Gold that drops below it.

Why is my Gold not counted?

The official wiki states that Gold must be stored in Collector blocks before it counts toward the player bank used for research.

How do Filters work?

A Filter carries non-selected pixels like a Conveyor Belt and lets configured pixels fall through. Dense mixed piles and material changes inside the Filter can cause incomplete separation or jams.

Is Sandustry still changing?

Yes. The game entered Early Access on August 13, 2026, so mechanics and labels may change. Every guide on this site shows a verification date and source boundary.

Is Sandustry Tools an official site?

No. Sandustry Tools is an independent fan-made reference. Official links are labeled and lead to Steam, the publisher-hosted wiki or the game website.

How Sandustry Tools stays honest

Mechanics come from the Steam store, official news and the publisher-hosted wiki. We do not reuse game art, copy competitor prose or present an editorial layout as an official optimum. If a source does not prove a rate, ratio or installation step, the page says so.
