How to Get Gold in Sandustry
Trace the whole chain. Most “no Gold” problems are input-state, output-clearance or storage problems rather than bad luck alone.

Quick answer
What to do
Combine one Sand and one Water to make two Wet Sand. Feed Wet Sand onto a Shaker. Every Wet Sand becomes Residue and has a 25% chance to also create one Gold. Gold exits below and only counts toward research after reaching a Collector.
1. Make Wet Sand without draining the source
The Water entry documents a one-to-one contact reaction: one Sand plus one Water is replaced by two Wet Sand. Build a narrow contact point that can be closed or inspected. A large open interface can consume more Water than expected and makes later diagnosis difficult.
2. Keep both Shaker outputs clear
Gold is the only solid pixel that passes through the Shaker. Residue stays on top and moves off slowly. Reserve the lower lane for Gold and the upper or side lane for Residue. If non-Gold material is dragged inside the Shaker, the official page warns that it can become trapped.
3. Verify the Collector, not just the pile
Loose Gold is a material, but the research bank counts Gold stored in Collector blocks. Follow a test pixel all the way from the Shaker underside to storage. If the bank does not increase, check the route, the Collector capacity and whether another material has blocked the path.
Gold troubleshooting table
| Symptom | Check first |
|---|---|
| No processing | Confirm the input is Wet Sand and sits on the Shaker. |
| Top is buried | Clear the slow Residue outlet. |
| Gold visible but bank unchanged | Trace it into a Collector block. |
| Output stops later | Inspect the lower route for mixed solids or full storage. |
